Physiocrate: A SignalPlant Toolbox for Respiratory, Blood Pressure and EMG Signal Analysis
Nejedlý, Petr ; Virgala, Jan
The paper presented here describes the SignalPlant library for analysis of physiological signals. This library contains plugins for analysis of continuous blood pressure (BP), respiratory signals (RESP) and electromyographic signals (EMG). Its principal advantages are real-time previews of results, ease of use and a multi-thread approach. The library is available free and open- source under an MIT license as part of the SignalPlant project at https://signalplant.codeplex.com.
Modeling of Respiratory System
Matoušek, Josef ; Roleček, Jiří (referee) ; Jiřík, Radovan (advisor)
This thesis is concerned with respiration system simulation. The main goal of this studies is to gain knowledge of how human respiration system works, along with selecting proper algorithms and their implementation into mathematic model. These models are realized by Simulink interface, which is part of Matlab environment. Similar models are used for medical technology research, especially for artificial ventilation of the lungs. There is a practical utilisation of these models suitable for illustration and respiration system's biological processes simulation, particularly combined model described in GUIDE graphic interface - also implemented in Matlab environment.
Design of Desktop Spirometer
Monsportová, Kateřina ; Buganská, Tamara (referee) ; Rubínová, Dana (advisor)
The theme of this bachelor thesis is a design of tabletop spirometer. The main goal is to design a device with innovative appearance and shaping, which will provide complex and professional pulmonary examination. The thesis is based on an analysis of the current market and was created with a regard to ergonomic and technical aspects. The final product finds its application in specialized consulting rooms and in general practitioner's office.
Spirometry data analysis software
Rovná, Tereza ; Štohanzlová, Petra (referee) ; Harabiš, Vratislav (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the pulmonary function tests. The first part focuses on basic respiratory data, ventilation diseases and parameters of evaluation. The second part describes diagnostic methods in detail. These methods are used to obtain functional parameters of lung function, especially spirometry. The third part focuses on NI DAQ, spirometer´s probe, spirometer SPIROBANK, DT and spirometry data analysis software developed in LabVIEW 2013. The fourth part deals with comparison of results from my own spirometry data analysis software, spirometric probe and SPIROBANK DT.
Polygraphic measurement of stress
Faltýnková, Květoslava ; Kolář, Radim (referee) ; Bubník, Karel (advisor)
This work deals with polygraphic measurement of stress. The paper describes the physiological manifestations of stress induced as a result of false answers to the question and ways to measure these phenomena. It focuses mainly on changes in heart rate, blood pressure, respiration and skin resistance. It is designed to work in the block diagram of polygraph, described the course of measurement and evaluation. The work is also mention of lie detection using EEG.
Ventilation Support of Laboratory Animals
Daniš, Václav ; Rozman, Jiří (referee) ; Sekora, Jiří (advisor)
mechanical ventilation an inseparable part of almost all surgery, where is anesthesia used. The introductory chapters of this thesis are focus on a teoretical familiarization with the complex issue with artificial lung ventilation. In additional to the history of artificial lung ventilation, chapters included familiarization with anatomy and physiology of lungs, associated with this defined volume of lungs and itself pulmonary ventilation. In the practical part I deal with design of ventilator for used it on laboratory animals.
Spirometry
Vyškovský, Daniel ; Slávik, Vladimír (referee) ; Janoušek, Oto (advisor)
This work presents spirometric measurements on a group of volunteers. First of all the physiology of respiration is explained. Further the theory necessary for measurement and analysis of respiration parameters is mentioned. A separate chapter contains information about ventilation disorders with focus on obstructive diseases. The measurement methodology is described in the analysis section. The program developed for automatic spirometric signal analysis is described in the next section. Parameters obtained from the program are statistically analysed and compared for physiological and obstructive state. Changes, which the individual parameters represent in relation to the simulated obstruction, are discussed. The appendix section contains a report to be used for laboratory lessons together with the developed program.
Respiration in decreasing of alertness level
Vyškovský, Daniel ; Chmelař, Milan (referee) ; Janoušek, Oto (advisor)
The aim of this work is to conduct measurements of respiration on sleep deprived volunteers and consequently provide statistical analysis of these data. Physiology of respiration is discussed in the first part. In the following part of the work a measuring protocol on volunteers in decreasing of alertness level is described. Further the processing of measured signals using the graphical interface in Matlab is defined. Data from these analysed signals are then used as input values for statistical assessment. In conclusion, alterations in respiration are discussed.
Respiratory biofeedback
Jína, Miroslav ; Chmelař, Milan (referee) ; Janoušek, Oto (advisor)
The aim of this study is to analyze biological feedback, its use and types of biofeedback, which can be used. There is also enumeration of different types of games, which are used for the therapeutic treatment. This work describes in detail the measurement of respiratory biofeedback with chest strap. MP35 acquisition unit and a LabView program, in which the signal is transmitted through the measuring card, is used for measure. This work also describes the role of protocol for measuring respiratory biofeedback. The other important part of this study is the own draft of games made in LabView 2010. This program includes four theapeutic games.
A probe of student´s knowledge of photosynthesis at the lower-secondary school
BOHÁČOVÁ, Nikola
This bachelor's thesis focuses on pupil's knowledge about photosynthesis and the other related processes in the terrestrial plants. The aim of the thesis was to find out misconceptions of the ninth grade pupils of elementary schools and lower grammar schools. It also deals with attitudes of teachers about teaching photosynthesis. Theoretical part of this thesis mentions physiological processes of plants and their possible misconceptions. These misconceptions are common in Czech and foreign studies. The study was realized in four elementary schools and lower grammar school using a questionnaire survey. The results of the survey declare that there are misconceptions and insufficient knowledge of plant physiology. Answers from biology teachers state that teaching biochemical processes in lower grades of primary school is difficult.
